Free health camp for flood victims held

Thoubal, July 12 2017:
Community Health Centre (CHC), Lilong Makha Leikai along with All Manipur Muslim Development Committee (AMMDC) Headquarters conducted free health camp at three different areas of Thoubal district yesterday.
The camp was organised at flood affected areas namely Lilong Haoreibi Turel Ahanbi Kaleikhong, Atoukhong Atim Khana and Haoreibi Lairakhong.
Medical Officer in charge of CHC Lilong Makha Leikai Dr Rakibuddin Ahamed Shah along with four doctors and seven subordinate staff attended to 370 people and members of AMMDC were also present at the camp.
President of AMMDC Sahid Ahamed stated that the purpose of the health camp is to keep a check on the outbreak of any epidemic in the flood affected areas and among the flood victims.
He said that many health camps and veterinary camps have been organised before and highlighted the need to conduct camps for people and animals because of the prolonged flood situation in the State.
He also sought support and cooperation from the public in organising the camps.
Md Adsul Hassim who is running for the candidate of Turen Ahanbi Atoukhong Sawombung Zilla Parishad stated that the flood water has contaminated the surrounding areas raising the risks for outbreak of several diseases.
He appealed the State Government to provide relief measures to the victims to ease the hardship faced by the flood affected people.
Medicines were also distributed free of cost.
