KLO/KLA president found murdered

Imphal, May 12 2011:
The dead body, retrieved by police on May 8 and which had remained unidentified at RIMS morgue, was today established as Paomang Khongsai, president of the KLO/KLA.
Police had retrieved the bullet riden body which was found abandoned near a culvert on NH 39 at Kholep village, three and a half km south of Sapermaina PS of Senapati district.
Though the police has established the dead body as that of Paomang Khongsai (37), the president of the Kuki Liberation Organisation, the political wing of the Kuki Liberation Army today, the dead body is, however, yet to be claimed by the family of the deceased who hailed from Assam.
When police retrieved the dead body, both the legs and hands were found tied and was also blind folded.
Police suspect he was dumped at the culvert after being killed at some other place.
The family is likely to take back the body tomorrow after postmortem.
Nobody has as yet claimed responsibility for the killing of the KLO/KLA chief.
Kuki Students' Organization, Sadar Hills, had earlier condemned the heinous act and warned that no such incidents should recur in its jurisdiction in the future for the sake of communal peace in the area.
