Don't hurt people's sentiment with health care issue: Saikul CSOs

Kangpokpi, April 25 2018: Reiterating its stand with the people of Khundrakpam over the shifting of Imphal East District Hospital from Sagolmang in Khundrakpam AC to Kyamgei Mamang Leikai in Keirao AC, Saikul CSOs urged the State Govt not to hurt public's sentiment over health care issue.

Recalling the immense service provided by the District Hospital at.Sagolmang towards the poor and needy people in Saikul, the CSOs in Saikul under the aegis of Kuki Inpi Saikul Gamkai highlighted the restlessness of thousand people of Saikul AC bordering with Khundrakpam AC over the shifting of the hospital from Sagolmang.

Seimang Lupho, president, Kuki Inpi Saikul Gamkai said that it is the interest of the deprived people from Saikul AC to avail proper health care services from the hospital if it is constructed at Sagolmang, Saikul CSOs further urged the State Government to withdraw its decision of shifting the hospital from Sagolmang.

"It is our earnest appeal to the State Government not to hurt the people's sentiment with health care issue and initiate measures to construct the district hospital at its previous location at Sagolmang in the larger interest of the people", said KISG president.

He also said that it will be a wise decision on the part of the State Govt and the department concerned to resolve case of any alleged land dispute rather than shifting the hospital, because of the excuse of such alleged dispute.

He further said, "In case if the need arise to compensate the land for construction of the hospital, let the Government compensate accordingly and construct the hospital before any unhealthy environment erupts between the Government and the people".

Saikul CSOs also said that they will stand with the people of Khundrakpam AC and render support and cooperation while endorsing its movement towards accomplishing the people demands.
