Awareness programme conducted

In wake of re-emerging of COVID-19 cases across the country, Sajik Tampak Battalion of 28 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised a COVED-19 Awareness Campaign at Sajik Tampak and adjoining villages in Chandel district today.
The event was conducted with an aim to sensitize the local populace about the second wave of COVED-19 and the villagers were educated about the COVED-19 protocols to be followed such as wearing of masks, maintaining safe distance and basic hygiene as precautionary measures to combat the new variant of the contagious COVED-19 virus, said a statement issued by PRO Assam Rifles.
The awareness drive included lecture by Assam Rifles Medical officer and proclamation of message by using mega phones.
Eligible people were also encouraged to take vaccine from any of the various Centre's opened by the government and thereby, prevent further spread of the virus.
Approximately 100 face masks and pamphlets were distributed to the local residents and school children.
The awareness campaign, organised with a motto to encourage people's participation in compliance with the COVID appropriate behaviour protocol was well received by the local populace and also promoted the essence of 'Dawai Bhi aur Kadaai Bhi', added the statement.
