Uripok Kanba Apunba Lup formed

A pressure group called 'Uripok Kanba Apunba Lup', to collectively demand the needs and requirements of Uripok AC to the Government, was formed today.
The group having 30 members was formed at a public meeting attended by representatives from all the 34 polling stations of the AC held at Uripok Achom Leikai.
Office bearers of the organisation were also selected at the meeting which was attended by Meinam Mithai, social worker; Thangjam Joykumar, Chief Engineer (retd), PWD; Prof H Nandakumar Sharma, former VC, Manipur University; Y Thamkishore, IAS (retd) and M Lakshmikumar as presidium members.
The public meeting discussed the pity condition of roads, drainage and power supply in the AC.
Speaking at the event, Y Thamkishore said development encompasses various spheres and Uripok AC should consider problems associated with drug abuse along with the problems of lack of proper roads and drainage system, potable water supplies and power supplies: Awareness on Covid-19 and steps to avail vaccination to the residents of Uripok AC should also be discussed and forward to relevant authorities, he added.
Formation of this pressure group will help in addressing the problems of the AC and is a good step towards solving the problems, he added.
Meinam Mithai and Anoubam Modhusudon were selected as president and general secretary of 'Uripok Kanba Apunba Lup' respectively.
