ESM rally at Kpi reassures care and empathy of armed forces fraternity

Kangpokpi, April 10 2021:
The Jwalamukhi Battalion under the aegis of 22 Sector IGAR(E) organized an ex-servicemen (ESM) meet at Company Operating Base (COB) Kangpokpi today.
The meet saw a mass participation of over 168 ex-servicemen from Kangpokpi district including ex-servicemen families, widows and children, World War II veterans of the district and Veer Naris of Assam Rifles as well as the Indian army.
In the meet which began at around 11 am, a formal function was also organized to felicitate the Veer Naris and widows from Kangpokpi district.
A total of four Veer Naris and ten widows were felicitated by Colonel Hemchandra Singh, Commandant 38 Assam Rifles.
Various facilities to meet the requirements of the ex-servicemen including CDS counter were opened at the venue.
A medical camp was also conducted for the ex-servicemen as well as their dependents during the meet.
A medical team fully equipped with modern equipment and medicines examined the ex-servicemen and their dependents.
Apart from the medical camp and other facilities, a soldier clerk was nominated to collect all the personal grievances of the ex-servicemen to be forward to the respective record branches.
The meet was a grand success and brought together the serving and the retired fraternity of the armed forces much closer.
Each veteran and Veer Naris who took part in the event went back reassured of the care and empathy shown by the armed forces fraternity of the country.
The ex-servicemen also expressed their heartfelt appreciation towards the efforts of the Assam Rifles in taking care of their welfare and conveyed gratitude to the Jwalamukhi Battalion for organizing the meet.
