Minor girl kidnapped and raped in Kakching

Kakching, January 30, 2013:
A 17-year minor girl was allegedly raped after being kidnapped by four men in Kakching under Thoubal district.
The incident came to light when father of the victim filed a complaint to Kakching Police today.
Following the complaint, Kakching Police registered an FIR under FIR No 14(1)2013 of Kakching PS and medico legal examinations were conducted on the girl at RIMS hospital today.
According to a statement of North East Support Centre and Help Line signed by its spokesperson Madhuchandra, the victim was abducted from Kakching Keithel on January 25 while she was coming there with her younger brother to make some purchases.
The four accused men came in a red coloured Maruti Van and abducted her.
There were evidences of using some chemical substances in kidnapping her as she felt unconscious after they pressed their hands to shut her mouth.
The statement further said that the girl found one Yengkokpam Prameshwar (19) s/o Rameshwar of Charangpat Mayai Leikai inside the Van when she regained her senses.
Prameshwar then took her to a secluded area and raped her causing physical injuries in her private parts.
Later, that day, family members of Prameshwar persuaded her to tell her family that she willingly eloped with Prameshwar and they brought her to her home the following day claiming that she had eloped with Prameshwar.
After the report of the incident reached the Support Centre, a fact finding team consisting Madhuchandra of NESCHL and member of Manipur State Minority Commission Devendro enquired about the incident and took statement of the victim girl.
Kakching police has registered a case against the four accused persons under IPC Section 366, 376, 342 and 34 and the hunt for them is on.
