The Mizoram Government is working out to implement the 7th Central Pay Commission's recommendations from the next fiscal 2018-19, Mizoram Finance Minister Lalsawta informed the State legislature on Wednesday.
Replying to queries from five members, Lalsawta said the Government had, on November 13 last year, formed a four member Pay Implementation Committee headed by former Finance Minister and the current Vice Chairman of the State Planning Board, H Liansailova, to study the feasibility of the implementation of the pay commission's recommendation in the State.
He said that the Government has been waiting for the recommendation of the pay committee, which is yet to be submitted.
The Minister said that the Pay Committee was instructed to submit its report within 6 months of its formation and the State Cabinet will take a final decision when the Committee submits its report.
The Committee may not take six months though it was given six months time to submit its report, he added.
He said that the State Government will incur additional expenditure of Rs 46.93 crore monthly and Rs 563.24 core annually when the 7th Central Pay Commission's recommendation is implemented.
In December last year, spearheaded by Federation of Mizoram Govt Employees and Workers (FMGE&W), Govt employees had staged three days mass casual leave agitation, demanding immediate implementation of the 7th Pay in the State.
