Association serves ultimatum to Govt

Imphal, April 20 2018:
The Land and Properties Owners' Association NH 37/39 has served an ultimatum to the State Government and the authority concerned to release the compensatory amount for the affected land owners along NH-37, before May 15 .
A press release issued by the information and publicity secretary of the association stated that the land acquisition proceeding was already completed by the Government under the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act 2013, through a notification issued on July 15, 2015 .
The Government also declared the construction/widening of two lane in along Imphal Jiribam NH-37 via a notice on February 22 .
It claimed that on February 8, 2013, the Cabinet decided for payment of compensation to the affected land owners/properties owners under the National Highway Act 1956 for development NH-37 and as such, detailed bills/estimates were already submitted to the General Manager (P) NHIDCL Imphal by the land collector/DC Tamenglong.
Demanding the authority concerned to pay the compensation on or before May 15, it warned that, various forms of agitation will be launched if the authority concerned fail to take up necessary actions.
