4th MCA Plate : PCC, Model Club enter semi-finals

PCC, Mayaikoibi and Model Club, Chingamakha beat their rivals in the respective semifinal matches of the ongoing 4th MCA Plate Tournament 2018 organised at Langthabal Public Ground and Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, Luwangsangbam.
In the first quarter-final clash played at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, SSU, Singjamei won the toss and let Model Club to bat first.
Antriksh's unbeaten 49 runs and Tejkumar's 32 (44) combined well to make it 163 for Model Club at the end of 30 overs losing 7 wickets.
Viking and Dhamendra also posted 22 runs and 17 runs each in this innings.
Bob and Utkash Jain of SSU managed to pick up two wickets apiece while Devan, Boem and Kenedy managed to take one wicket each.
In reply, SSU were bowled out for a paltry 79 runs in 21.3 overs with Utkash Jain hitting the highest of 27 runs in 26 balls and Shahi Chadha fetched 16 runs in his name.
Iboyaima of Model Club led the bowling front registering 3 wickets in 4.3 overs while Antriksh Choudhary and .Bijoykumar scalped 2 wickets each to give a tough time to Model Club batsmen.
Bishorjit and Tejkumar also picked up one wicket each.
Antriksh Jain was named man of the match for his 49 run not out performance and two wicket haul.
In the second quarter-final match staged at Langthabal Public Ground, PCC, Mayaikoibi beat IBSA by 38 runs.
Put into bat first, PCC posted a total of 153 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 27 overs.
In reply, IBSA, Yumnam Leikai could fetch only 115 runs to give the Mayaikoibi side the semi-final berth.
Tyson of PCC made the highest of 44 runs in 46 balls while Ranjan hit 25 runs in 13 balls in this innings.
Vidyasagar 18 (29), Rohit 11 (15) and Premchand 10 (9) then helped PCC set the target of 154 runs.
Shiv of IBSA enjoyed a three wicket haul while Manoj and Ingoton picked up two wickets each in the first innings.
The chase did not go well as PCC bowlers restricted IBSA at just 115 runs for 10 in 23.2 overs.
Shiv made a promising start scoring 30 before he went out in the 35th delivery while other batsmen had to go out with few scores in their names.
Manoj who came in the middle order fetched 19 runs, the second highest run for IBSA while Wanglen and Jaten scored 17 runs and 11 runs respectively.
Ranjan of PCC claimed three crucial wickets while his team mate Vidyasagar picked up two wickets.
Premchand, Rohit and Ajay also registered one wicket each in their names in this innings and gave their team a 38 runs victory.
Ranjan of PCC was adjudged man of the match for his 3 wicket haul and 25 runs feat.
AL-AMEEN will face CDC in the third quarter-final match tomorrow at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium while the fourth quarter-final match will be played between UCC and PSC at Langthabal Public Ground.
