NCC cadets spread pollution awareness with cycle rally

Imphal, July 07 2019:
As part of the Pollution Awareness Fortnight, NCC Group Imphal organized a Mega Cycle Rally in which 360 cadets, 12 ANOs/CTOs, 21 PI staff and four officers took part.
The rally commenced from DM College ground with a talk by Brig RS Sethi, Group Commander, who highlighted the adverse effects of pollution.
He addressed the issue of water pollution, water scarcity and the importance of rain water harvesting, said PIB Defence Wing.
The cadets took a pledge towards tackling the menace of pollution in their individual capacities and resolved to spread this awareness amongst their family, friends and society.
"Going Green" was the theme of the rally.
NCC Group Imphal has been organising various activities including lectures & seminars, painting & debate competitions, foot rallies, demonstration of water conservation techniques and Nukkad Nataks to spread awareness on environment, pollution and conservation of water, said the statement.
