Governor, Speaker greet people

Governor Gurbachan Jagat and Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly Th Lokeswar Singh have greeted the people, especially the Christian brethren, on the sacred occasion of Good Frinday, 2012 .
In his greeting, Governor Gurbachan Jagat observed that Good Friday symbolizes the supreme and selfless sacrifice of Lord Jesus Christ for strengthening the bonds of friendship, brotherhood and love amongst mankind.
Born to rebuild a new world order, based on justice, truth, equality, compassion, love, peace and fraternity, Lord Jesus preached the message of peaceful co-existence of mankind.
His resurrection symbolizes the decisive victory of Good over Evil, the Governor said, and exhorted 'On this sacred occasion, let all of us rededicate ourselves to the noble ideals of peace, harmony and brotherhood amongst different sections of our society.
"I am confidence that the occasion will be observed in its true spirit", the Governor said and wished the people of Manipur a Happy Easter.
On the other hand, in his message to the people, Speaker Th Lokeshwar Singh said that Good Friday once again remind us of the sacrifice made by Lord Jesus Christ for promotion of peace, non-violence and communal harmony in the world.
On the occasion of Good Friday, he also called upon the people to set aside their differences and work together for peace and development in Manipur.
MP Dr T Meinya and MPCC President, Home Minister Gaikhangam, Major General UK Gurung, Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) and all ranks of Assam Rifles have also extended Good Friday greetings to the people of Manipur.
