Bomb attacks continue on political party workers

Imphal, January 22, 2012:
With just five days left for the 10th Manipur State Assembly Elections, bomb attacks on the candidates and workers of different political parties continue to rain down heavily.
A bomb was found planted by unidentified miscreants at the residence of one Khumbongmayum Japan s/o late Kh Iboton of Nongada Makha Leikai around 8:30 pm today.

Police later recovered the IED and disposed it at a safer place.
Kh Japan is the son-in-law of CPI candidate of Lamlai A/C, Minister Ph Parijat.
Another IED was also found planted under an electric post located near the residence of Thingbaijam Ibosana (35), s/o late Th Ibohal of Top Awang Leikai at around 7 this morning.
He is a BJP candidate of Kshetrigao A/C.The IED was later retrieved by police and explode at a safer place.
Yet another bomb was also hurled at the residence of one congress worker Md Iboton (38) of Kwakta ward number 8 at around 9:30 this morning.
The bomb was later retrieved by the police.
In yet another incident, a bomb was hurled at the residence of one Congress worker Yumnam Rameshwar (55) s/o Y Angangjao of Irom Meijrao Mayai Leikai early this morning at around 7 .
The hand grenade was later retrieved by the police and disposed off at a safer place.
