Police conduct anti-liquor drive

Kangpokpi, June 11 2020:
In connection with COVID-19 lockdown, Kangpokpi police conducted liquor drive within the District Headquarters today.
A team of Kangpokpi Police led by SI Raju under the supervision of SP Kangpokpi Hemant Pandey and coordinated by Addl SP (Ops), Lalminlen Misao conducted the liquor drive to avoid breaching of the lockdown protocols and various SOPs under the influence of alcohol in the district.
The police team seized 5 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL), 4 bottles of Distilled Illicit Country (DIC) liquor and 21 local DIC liquor in plastic from various liquor vendors in the District Headquarters amounting to approximately Rs 10,500 .
The seized liquor was disposed of in public in the presence of the local civil bodies KWWO and KYU leaders.
Lalminlen Misao said that the drive was conducted as breaching of lockdown protocols and various SOPs under the influence of alcohol in the district is high.
He also cautioned that appropriate action will be taken up upon those breaching the protocols and SOPs of the lockdown under the influence of alcohol and other intoxicants.
