Deputy Speaker provides cash assistance to aged

Imphal, June 11 2020:
Deputy Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly, Kongkham Robindro Singh has provided cash assistance from his side to 206 people above 60 years, of Mayang Imphal Assembly Constituency who are yet to receive the benefits of pension schemes of both the State and Central Governments.
Speaking to media persons while distributing monetary assistance to beneficiaries of Polling Stations 23/35 and 23/41 at Laphupat Tera, K Robindro said that he has been providing Rs 150 every month to about 900 senior citizens of his constituency under the name "Ahal Oirabasingee Tengbang" from his salary.
Kongkham Robindro Singh is also the MLA of Mayang Imphal AC .
Saying that he is also working to make this group of senior locals received the benefits of the old-age pension scheme of the State and Central Governments, the MLA continued that he will provide the monetary aid until they are covered by the Government schemes.
The MLA also said that he will continue to work for the development of Mayang Imphal AC, which was once weak in every sphere.
In connection with the COVID-19 pandemic, K Robindro urged all to follow the safety guidelines laid down by the Government and experts.
Maintaining that several inmates are stirring trouble in different quarantine centres, the MLA appealed to public of his AC to be disciplined and be satisfied with what the State Government is arranging for them.
He also said that this Government is providing Rs 200 each to all inmates.
Since this BJP led coalition Government formed a Government, the law and order situation of the State has improved drastically, the MLA added.
The programme was also attended by Pradhan of Laphupat Tera Komlakhong GP, N Basanta and BJP Mayang Imphal Mandal president, Irom Rabi among others.
