Inclusive development is a must and no disparity should be there between hills and valley: N.Biren

Imphal, April 07 2017:
"The Government is fully committed to bringing inclusive development in the State and no disparity should be there among us", said Chief Minister Shri N.Biren Singh.
This was stated on an inspection visit of the Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Regional Campus at Makhan village, Kangpokpi District today.
During the inspection, an interaction programme with the faculties and students was held at the Library Hall of the University.
Stating that education is the future of the society, the Chief Minister said, "Establishment of such Tribal University in the State is the need of the hour as many students who cannot afford to study outside the State can have a better place to get education within the State." He further stated that the new Government believes in practical approach and its foremost mission is to bring development equally in both hills and valley.
After discussing the grievances of the faculties and students, Shri N.Biren Singh promised to construct the security barracks and deploy security personnel in the campus.
The Chief Minister also assured that the approach road leading to University from Kanglatongbi would be blacktopped soon.
He further stated that he would do his best to pursue the Union HRD Ministry for the upgradation of the present Regional Campus into an autonomous/full-fledged University.
Tribal Affairs and Hills Minister Shri N.Kayisii, Social Welfare and Co-operation Minister Smt.
Nemcha Kipgen, Higher and Technical Education Commissioner Shri Vineet Joshi, Director Education (U) Smt.
Th.Chitra Devi, Tribal Development Director Smt.
Mannuamching and other top civil and police officials accompanied the Chief Minister during the visit.
