Veterinary and Animal Husbandry launches animal diseases reporting system

Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Services, Manipur today launched the National Animal Disease Reporting System (NADRS).
A function which marked the launch was held at the conference hall of Vety & AH with Commissioner L Lakher gracing the event as chief guest.
A one-day seminar on the topic, 'Bovine mastitis - a threat to dairy industries' was also organised to mark the occasion.
Speaking at the occasion, L Lakher said, setting up of NADRS in the State would enhance communication with New Delhi regarding animal diseases.
It would also prevent outbreak of animal diseases in the State through timely intervention from experts of other States, he added.
Under this system, Lakher stated, State Veterinary Department would collect datas from the districts of the State for analysis/examination and forward the same to the headquarters in New Delhi.
Saying that the State had faced outbreak of animal disease in the past due to lack of awareness and communication gap, the Commissioner expressed hope that the newly launched system would reduce such instances in future.
L Lakher also stressed on the need of seeking assistance from NADRS by cattle farmers for effective execution of timely preventive measures.
SO of National Information Centre, Manipur, Kh Rajen Singh, Vety & AH Director Dr Th Jeevan Singh and Navin Kumar of NIC, New Delhi were also present at the occasion.
