Imphal, June 23 2019:
Expired edible and eatable items seized by volunteers of Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA) from Khwairamband Keithel and adjoining areas were disposed today at Iroishemba.
Speaking to media persons after setting ablaze the expired goods, KSA youth affairs and sports secretary Sanjay Khullakpam said that KSA is deeply concerned with the deliberate supply of several expired goods to Imphal.
Supplying expired goods to the State might have been driven by a nefarious design to render all the people of Manipur victims of slow food poisoning.

As such, KSA would continue its drive against expired goods, Sanjay said.
While exuding that Food Safety officials would take up necessary action promptly, he appealed to all the people to inform KSA if any one comes across expired goods.
As for the ban imposed on companies, the ban will be lifted after their products are certified safe by competent authorities, he added.
