Imphal, June 23 2019:
Chief Minister N Biren has advised BJP workers and supporters to start working from today so that the party can form the next State Government on its own.
He was speaking at the 66th death anniversary of Rashtriya Janata Sangh Party founder member Shyam Prasad Mookerjee observed today at the Canchipur office of BJP State unit.
Biren remarked that Shyam Prasad Mookerjee was one outstanding leader who worked tirelessly for a strong, united India.
Claiming that BJP leaders have far greater sense of nationalism as compared to leaders of other political parties, Biren said that Shyam Prasad Mookerjee marched to Jammu and Kashmir when there was a strong demand for separate flag and constitution and prohibition on people from other States from entering the State without permit.
For marching to Jammu and Kashmir, he was arrested and spent the rest of his life in jail.
Even though Congress party ruled the State for 15/20 years, the BJP-led Government which is just about two years old has successfully uprooted the party from both Outer Manipur PC and Inner Manipur PC.
It is no minor achievement that the BJP-led Government has sent two NDA MPs to the Parliament, Biren said.
Had the Government not applied Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas' theory, it would not have been possible to suppress Congress party in the State within two years, Biren said.
He then called upon all BJP workers and supporters to start working collectively from today so that BJP secures absolute majority in the next State Assembly election and forms a BJP-exclusive Government.
BJP will grow into a strong party if there is stability and enjoys mass support.
The coalition Government has been working hard to walk hand in hand with the masses but it is no easy task to run a coalition Government, Biren said.
He further appealed to all concerned to ensure that there is a stable Government which focuses its attention on development of the State.
