Imphal, February 04 2015:
Contending that the vision document released by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for Delhi Assembly Election in which people of Northeastern States were referred as 'immigrants' is one of the hidden agendas of the party, Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam who is also the president of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) has demanded apology from the party publicly at the earliest.
He was addressing media persons at his office at Secretariat on Wednesday.
Gaikhangam said that terming Northeast people as 'immigrants' in the vision document released by BJP was not a mistake and it has deeply hurt the sentiments of the Northeast people.

The release of the document came at a time when racial discrimination against the people of Northeastern States staying in different parts of the country mainly in Delhi is continuing, he observed.
Maintaining that Northeast people are also the citizens of the country, the Dy CM said that it is up to the people whether to accept or not if BJP clarifies that terming Northeast people as 'immigrants' in their vision document was due to clerical mistake.
Calling people of Northeastern States as 'immigrants' in the BJP vision document released for Delhi Assembly Election is highly condemnable.
All India Congress Committee (AICC) had already expressed resentment over the disturbing document, Gaikhangam added.
