Imphal, July 20 2009:
The proscribed Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) and its armed wing the PLA have offered revolutionary salute to its departed activist 'Sgt' Yaishana alias Leishana (Khaidem Nungshi Chanu), who had passed away around 10.20pm on July 18 due to severe illness.
In a statement chief, department of publicity of the RPF GM Changjou stated that Khaidem Nungshi Chanu, daughter of Khaidem Bijoy and Kh (O) Apombi of Sugnu Makha Leikai had joined the outfit on August 31, 2000.She was allotted A.No (2170) on November 20, 2000.It also recalled her allegiance to the movement when she first joined the outfit.
fter undergoing the basic military training, she joined the Women Armed Force (WAF) and participated in several programmes of the WAF.
She was then posted subsequently at the Demolition Unit, GHQ Defence Force, QMO Office, the release stated.
Saying that she had served the outfit's WAF till her last breath with responsibility, the statement observed that her untimely dead is causing irreparable lost and void which will be hard to fill in the revolutionary movement.
The RPF and its armed wing the PLA have also joined the bereaved family in sharing their grief over her death.
