Kangpokpi, March 10 2018:
Disappointed with the State Government for compelling the student community to tolerate the heavy dust owing to the dilapidated road between Koubru Leikha and Tendongyang, the student community of Kangpokpi District has decided to support the Thadou Students' Association demand over the issue.
It may be recalled that, the Thadou Students' Association Sadar Hills had served ultimatum to the State Government to repair the unavoidable National Highway 2 between Koubru Leikha and Kanglatongbi before March 11 during its press conference held at Motbung on March 1.Highlighting the student community's untold misery and grievances owing to the heavy dust generated from the decaying road which remained unattended for long time, student community of various educational institutions has conveyed their support to the demand of the TSA Sadar Hills.
"We have been reeling under severe health condition while going to school owing to the huge column of dusts produced by every passing vehicles due to the decaying condition of the road," said a student from Motbung.
Concerned over the muteness of the concerned authority and the State Government, another student alleged that the State Government is ignoring the health and welfare of the students from the far flung areas.
"Heavy dust surrounds our school almost all throughout the day and we study under such miserable dust which is tremendously disturbing and has been hindering our concentration and deteriorating our health as well," he said.
Appealing the State Government to look into the matter before the expiry of the TSA Sadar Hills ultimatum considering the tremendous hardship of the student community and the general public as a whole, the student community warned that it will be compelled to support and endorse the TSA Sadar Hills in any form of movement.
