Chief and Public Grievances Forum of Chandel and Tengnoupal has sought the immediate attention of the State Government over the failure to take up relief and development works in Chandel and Tengnoupal districts while urging the authority concerned to look into the matter for the welfare of the hill area people, said a statement of the forum.
The statement further said the State Government is yet to launch PMAY-G schemes in these regions while adding that gas subsidy amounts were not properly recovered to the beneficiaries bank account under PMUY Scheme.
It also mentioned that the flood relief fund for the year 2015-16 on the damaged land, household property and paddy fields were not released till date.
According to the statement, the forum said that the State Government has so far utilized 5 days of work out of the total 100 days sanctioned for the current year under MGNREGS whereas only 15-20 days of work were implemented under the scheme for the year starting 2013 to 2017.The forum decried the partial treatment meted out to the hill people by the State Government in disbursing loans and grants for handloom under MURA Scheme which was otherwise easily granted to the valley area.
In the statement, they also criticized some prominent persons settled in Imphal who have benefitted by diverting funds of some Government schemes meant for the hill people.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana, big posters having photos of Chief Minister and Work Minister were put up everywhere but the schemes are not implemented properly, added the statement.
