House Committee inspects developmental works

The Committee on Estimates of Manipur Legislative Assembly today inspected the development programmes being taken up by the State government in Sagolband A/C, Langthabal A/C and also the project site of Solid Waste Management Plant at Lamdeng.
The inspection visit was led by MLA Dr Ng Bijoy, Chairman of Committee on Estimates.
Members of the Committee on Estimates including MLAs Karam Shyam, Yamthong Haokip, Md Fajur Rahim, RK Imo and officials of PDA accompanied the Chairman.
During the inspection, officials of the Company which is taking up the Solid Waste Disposal Project informed the visiting team that the actual work on the project could be started only after completion of the construction work on a shed which is to be 107.5 meters long and 86 meters wide.

It is said that the approved estimated cost of the project as per DPR was Rs 2580.71 lakh.
However, the revised cost of the project was later fixed at Rs 4175.66 lakh.
As of now, Rs 929.06 lakhs have been sanctioned by the Central Government.
With the share of the State Government and the State Government (land), a total amount, thus, sanctioned so far is Rs 1,816.75 lakh.
The consultant of the project is M/S Deccan Consulting Engineers Pvt Ltd.
Speaking to mediapersons on the sideline of the inspection visit, MLA Dr Ng Bijoy said that the spot selection of the project is excellent.
It is indeed fortunate that the project is targeted to be completed by November 26, 2012.It is hope that the project will benefit the people of the state to a large extent.
Earlier, the team inspected the construction work on drainage system being taken up under JnNURM at Kwakeithel and Waheng Leikai area.
The team also inspected the development programmes taken up by the government in Langthabla A/C .
