Imphal, August 26 2012:
Reacting to Joujangtek village chief Henkhopao Haokip's denial about involvement of Joujangtek villagers in the demolition of dwelling houses, assault on S Tomba, killing dogs, domestic fowls, destruction of bean and chilly farms which took place on August 22 at 10 pm at upper Nungsai (Longsai) village, Nungsai village chief G Poujanglung has termed the statement of denial a blatant lie.
Before this heinous incident, two youths of Joujangtek came in the morning of August 22 and warned to S Tomba to vacate his farm house.
Eye witnesses including S Tomba and other residents of two houses revealed that the youths who assaulted them on the fateful night at around 10 pm were armed and clad in camouflage dress and they looked like militants, said a press release issued by G Poujanglung.
The heinous crime cannot be pardoned by any right-thinking citizen unless an amicable solution is worked out, it added.
