UNC's demand to be discussed on Aug 31

Imphal, August 26 2012:
The demand of United Naga Council (UNC) for Alternative Arrangement for the Nagas would be discussed on August 31 at New Delhi.
According to reliable sources, the meeting to be conducted at Delhi on August 31 would be attended by representatives of Central Government, State Government and UNC.
After the meeting, officials of Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Tribal Affairs and a Central Inter-Ministerial team of Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) would be visiting Manipur on September 16 next.
Earlier, on August 23 and 24 last, a Ministerial meeting was also held in this regard at New Delhi where Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary (Home) and officials of Planning Department participated, sources disclosed.
Meanwhile, according to another reliable source, a meeting of the State Empowered Committee would be convened at the office of Chief Secretary tomorrow.
The meeting would discuss the Recast Annual Action Plan which is under the Modernisation Scheme of the State Police Forces, 2012-13 .
The meeting, which would be attended by DGP, Principal Secretary (Home) and the IGP (Administration), would be chaired by Chief Secretary DS Poonia.
