AMSU urges on Hunger Marchers' Day observance

Ahead of the 47th Hunger Marchers' Day observance tomorrow, All Manipur Students' union has urged the people to participate in the observance.
Addressing newspersons at its head office today, AMSU president Thokchom Suresh said that like in the past observances, floral tributes would be paid from early morning to Waikhom Nilamani, Oinam Nabakumar, Nongmeikappam Pramodini and Laishram Chaobhal at the Pishum Chinga Macha memorial complex, from where a rally would be taken out upto DM College campus where a public meeting would be held.
Highlighting that the observance is being held to commemorate the 1965 students' movement against artificial scarcity of food grains in Manipur, Suresh reminded that including a female student activists, four persons were killed in clash between the protestors and Government forces.
Urging all concerned to refrain from organising or indulging in entertainment activities, he also informed that passenger transport service would be put in place at different locations.
Further appealing to the people for generous donation to genuine AMSU volunteers for the observance, Suresh also clarified that Takhellambam Bishworjit of Yairipok has no relationship, whatever, with the Union.
