Akademi award for Sagolsem Indrakumar

Sagolsem Indrakumar has been included in the list of recipients of Sahitya Akademi Bal Sahitya Puraskar for the year 2012, for his children's science fiction bokk entitled 'Thada Thabaton' .
The award, which includes a plaque and Rs 50,000 cash, will be conferred on November 14 at Delhi.
Known in the literary circle for his disposition and interest in writing children literature books, Indra-kumar's 'Thouna Phaba Khambaton' had bagged the National Prize in the National Prize Competition for Literature 1978-79 held under the sponsorship of National Council of Educational Research and Training.

He has also translated 'Arabian Nights' and 'Pinocchio' into Manipuri and has so far nine books to his credit.
Indrakumar worked in All India Radio in various capacities and retired as Director, Doordarshan Kendra Dibrugarh in 2001 .
He is presently a columnist of The Sangai Express (Manipuri edition) .
