International Conference on Manipuri Muslims to be held

All Manipur Muslims (Meitei Pangal) Welfare Association (AMMPWA) Imphal will be organising a "Two-day International conference on Manipuri Muslims: Past, present and future" on March 2 and 3 at Imphal Hotel.
AMMPWA secretary, while speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, he stated that there will be two technical sessions on the first day while invited lecturers from eminent scholars, academicians, followed by paper presentations from research scholars and eminent academicians from Assam, Manipur, Tripura, Bangladesh etc.
The second day will comprise of a panel discussion and recommendations of the conference followed by valedictory function, he added.
The secretary further stated that the conference will be opened by titular king Leishemba Sanajaoba as the chief guest of the function.
H Deleep, VC, DM University Imphal and professor N Joykumar, former Director, Centre for Manipuri Studies, Manipur University will attend the conference as the guests of honour while AR Khan, president of AMMOWA will preside over the function.
4 delegates and resource persons from Bangladesh, 14 delegates and two resource persons from Assam, 3 delegates and two resource persons from Tripura including one folk singer will participate in the conference, he said adding that 300 delegates/research scholars are expected to participate in the conference.
