20th Maj Pagin Kipgen Meritorious Award conferred to students

Maj Pagin Kipgen Foundation, a Charitable Trust (MPKFCT), has organised its 20th Maj Pagin Kipgen Meritorious Award 2018 at Emmanuel High School, Haipi in Kangpokpi District-today.
TN Haokip, MLA, who is also the president of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee attended the occasion as chief guest while Thangminlen Kipgen, Chairman MPKFCT, who is also the president of NPP Manipur Unit and DD Thaisii, MLA attended as president and guest of honour respectively.
The meritorious award organised annually by Maj Pagin Kipgen Foundation is a part of the foundation's endeavor to bring quality education and encourage the young learners of Sadar Hills Kangpokpi district.
The award since 1999 has conferred awards to 415 students including this year awardees.
Speaking at the event, MLA TN Haokip, president MPCC congratulated all the successful students in the HSLC Examination 2018 from the district while motivating them (students) to work harder with determination.
"You are the architect/engineer of your own future and therefore it is most important that you march forward with a determination and a strong will.
You have the responsibility to choose and design a peaceful and a developed society in future," said the MPCC president.
He also exhorted the students to play healthy sports.
"Play while you play and learn while you learn," he said pointing out the importance of physical exercises.
Without any physical exercises/play one become dull, he said encouraging the students to stay healthy.
"Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, study hard, understand what you learn and implement what you have learned," advised Thangminlen Kipgen congratulating the students on their success.
"You have many more tougher competition ahead which needs more effort and struggle," said MLA DD Thaisii encouraging the students in his speech.
The awardees of the 20th Maj Pagin Kipgen Meritorious Award, 2018 are Haominlun Singson, s/o Lamminlun Singson, C Aisan village from EMRS, Gamnom Sapormeina (86.16%); Seiminhao Khongsai, s/o Tongminlun Khongsai of Kotlen from EMRS, Gamnom Sapormeina (86%); Lungouthang Singson, s/o Haoginlal Singson of Vengthah, Kangpokpi from Diamond Eng H/S, Kpi (84.33%); Lamneichong Singson, d/o Thangminlen Singson, Kangpokpi from Diamond Eng H/S (83.83%); Janggoulen Tuboi, s/o Kamjalen Tuboi, Bunglung, Saikul from EMRS, Gamnom Sapormeina (83.83%); Jangthengin Vaiphei, s/o Yangkhohao Vaiphei, S Molnom from EMRS, Gamnom Sapormeina (83.83%); Neihoithem Khongsai, d/o Lhunkholet Khongsai, Luwangsanggol from EMRS, Gamnom Sapormeina (83.66%); Thangboichon Hangshing, s/o Letminhao Hangshing, Khunkho Kuki from Mt Calvary Eng H/S (83.33%); Thangminlun Haokip, s/o Letngam Haokip, G Kholep from EMRS, Gamnom Sapormeina (83.16%) and Th Laldingliana, s/o Th Khawtinkhuma from Diamond Eng H/S (82.66%).It may be mentioned that Esha Dhital from Emmanuel High School, Haipi is the subject topper (Hindi) in Sadar Hills.
Lunkholal Kipgen, Head Deacon, Haipi Baptist Church conducted the blessing prayer for the awardees.
Meghalaya Board of School Education (Commerce) topper Chongdeinem Guite, who was also an awardee of Maj Pagin Kipgen Meritorious Award in 2016, attended the event as special guest.
