The party was attended by ex-Chief Minister Okram Ibobi, MPCC president TN Haokip, ex-Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam, MPCC Minority Department Chairman Fajur Rahim and a number of Congress workers.
Speaking at the gathering, O Ibobi stated that the people of Manipur have been living harmoniously even though they profess different religious faiths.
He also appealed to all the people to work collectively for a prosperous and vibrant society.
A separate directorate was opened when there was Congress Government and the directorate implemented a number of schemes for the upliftment of backward classes, he said.
Ibobi prayed that the holy month of Ramzan may bring peace and prosperity in the State.
Fajur Rahim said that Muslims settle in 25 Assembly segments of Manipur.
Muslim candidates have strong chances of getting elected to the Manipur Legislative Assembly from 18 of the 25 Assembly segments as they have large numbers of Muslim voters.
He said that there would be peace and development in the State if the people vote for Congress in every election.
TN Haokip asserted that Congress party is a secular party which does not discriminate people on the basis of one's religious faith.
