Imphal, June 04 2018:
Avian House, a poultry farm located at Khonghampat, Imphal West has brought innovative technologies from various researchers and entrepreneurs into commercial applications for the welfare and benefit of poultry farmers and poultry industry at large.
The farm is one of its kind in that it offers a connection between researchers and entrepreneurs with poultry sector technology experts viz automated nipple water drinker, automatic feeder etc.
The farm has full rail lighting system with low energy consumption to ensure clear visibility which helps the birds grow faster and healthier, apart from utilising ground-water to eliminate water borne diseases.
Proprietor Chingtham Dhurvatara Khaba of Khonghampat Awang Leikai started Avian House on August 4, 2004 with 30 broiler chicks and with only two kgs of Samrat feeds.
Avian House aims to provide new and advanced technologies to local small scale farmers in order to help increase productivity.
The farm was set up with the aim of providing jobs to the unemployed youths, to provide healthy foods and poultry products to the people, to help produce organic chicken meat and eggs and to ensure that the State becomes self reliant.
With the ever increasing population and demands of food products like meat which are often imported from other States, the small farmers, if given the right technology and methods, will be able to produce organic healthy meats to fulfil the ever growing demands of the people.
