Imphal, September 30 2012:
All Tribal Disables' Union Manipur (ATDUM) expressed strong dissatisfaction over alleged discriminatory attitude of the Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC) and concerned authority towards the rights of tribal physically challenged persons.
A statement by its President, Momo Tantanga, ATDUM pointed out that out of the 138 candidates recommended by MPSC for recruitment to MCS and allied services, there are four physically challenged persons belonging to OBC (M)-1, SC-1, and General-2 .
But there is no ST candidate.
Referring to the 200 Points Based Reservation Roster, ATDUM claimed that at least one post should go to ST physically challenged candidate and recommendation of 2 (two) candidates in the general category may be re-looked.
The union also urges the MPSC to furnish the names, roll numbers and marks secured by the physically challenged ST candidates who came next to the four recommend candidates under the same category.
