Imphal, September 30 2012: The American Consul General based at Kolkata once described Manipur as an occupied territory of India.

American Consul General in Kolkata Henry Jardine wrote in a cable sent on September 1, 2006 (76968: confidential): "In ConGen's many interactions, even with some government officials, a reoccurrung comment was that Manipur was less a state and more a colony of India.

The general use of the AFSPA meant that the Manipuris did not have the same rights of other Indian citizens and restrictions on travel to the State added to a sense of isolation and separation from the rest of India 'proper' .

The overwhelming presence of military, paramilitary and police officers contributed to the impression that Imphal was under military occupation" .

What Henry Jardine said was the truth.

All the countries of the world would say the same thing if they come to know how Manipur is being ruled by India.

Enactment of AFSPA by the Indian Parliament and upholding the same by the Indian Supreme Court testified that the Government of India has no qualms when the people of Manipur are being trampled under the boots of Indian military.

For more than 64 years, the Government of India has been exploiting the people of Manipur by imposing AFSPA.

In addition, the Indian military who has been given unbridled power and money is unleashing all kinds of repressive measures in the name of counter insurgency operations.

Apart from helping the civil authority, the Indian military has been openly interfering in the State administration.

All these are clear evidence of Manipur being a colony of Manipur, CorCom alleged.

Alleging that Manipur is being de facto ruled by military junta, the committee appealed to all the people not to buy the deceptive words of the Indian military.

As long as Manipur is under the Indian rule, Indian people would never respect the people of Manipur and would always look down upon people of the region including Manipur.

To humiliate the people of Manipur by using derogatory words is natural trait of the Indian people.

Only when Manipur becomes independent, Indian people would respect the people of Manipur and there would be mutual respect between the two countries.

For the moment, let the Indian people called Manipuris 'Chinki' or 'Pahariya'.

By doing so, the Indian people are only exposing their uncivilized outlook.

Even as Manipur is being kept suppressed politically and economically, Manipur is at the top of India in the field of sports.

This was testified during the London Olympics 2012 where five sports persons from the State including MC Mary Kom participated.

In their efforts to consolidate the colonial rule, the Indian military has been donning different roles and is interfering in the politics, economy, culture and traditions of the indigenous people.

In the meantime, the Indian military would not stop harassing and killing the people.

On the other side, they would continue befooling the mass by giving some cheap articles to women groups, students and youngsters.

People should be wary of such delusory tactics of the Indian military.

For the people of Manipur, the Indian military is a poisonous snake.

They would show their true colours when there is confrontation between them and revolutionary cadres.

The Indian military is a force which is forcibly occupying Manipur and keeping the people under an alien rule.

"They are our enemies and they should be viewed as such.

Our people can never negotiate or go together with the Indian military, it concluded.
