Tamenglong for resolving conflict situation

Tamenglong, September 30 2012:
A one-day Consultative Meeting on Conflict Resolution & Peace Building was held at Shekinuh Inn last Saturday.
The consultative meeting was organised by District Network Committee, Tamenglong.
Speaking as one of the resource persons, Rev.Fr.Philip, Sdb, Administrator of Don Bosco, Tamenglong, observed that the prevailing situation in Tamenglong district is tense and volatile, thus, creating a fear psychosis in the minds of the general public.
So, serious study and reflection need to be taken up to understand as to why things are this way.
Quoting Bible passages, Fr Philip called on the people to learn to forgive one another.
It is in the hands of Zeliangrong leaders and the public to bring about an ultimate solution to complex Zeliangrong issues.
Leaders should also be able to serve his fellowmen in the true spirit of Bible.
"To bring peace is a long journey, let us start walking.
Darkness cannot drive away darkness nor hate cannot drive away hatred; accept love and forgiveness", Rev.Fr.
Philip exhorted.
Participating in the consultative meeting, Dichamang Pamei, IAS, former DC of Tamenglong district, stressed on the need to speed up the Naga peace process for bring about a political solution.
Without this, the feeling of vengeance in the minds of Zeliangrong people would divert the attention from conflict resolution and peace building would not be able to achieve.
"An eye for an eye would only lead us all to blindness", he added.
Many participants who took part in the meeting also shared their desires for bringing about lasting peace and normalcy in the district.
Many resolutions were also adopted at the end of the meeting.
