Imphal, September 30 2012:
Some letters sent by the recruitment authority through post office to the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BSEM) for verification of certificates of those candidates who joined army and Assam Rifles from Manipur have been replied even before they reached BSEM office.
A reliable source informed that the recruitment authority was confused when they received verification report from BSEM after they have already received reply to their letters.
Subsequently, the recruitment authority raised the matter with the State Government.
While the reply sent earlier said that all the matric certificates (of the candidates) were genuine, BSEM's verification report said that some of the documents were forged ones.
It is suspected that a big racket is involved in forging certificates and enabling youngsters join army and paramilitary forces through fraudulent means.
BSEM has already confirmed that certificates of many candidates were fakes.
The recruitment authority has already sent many letters to the State Government enquiring about the matter, conveyed the source.
