24-hr bandh from June 30 midnight

Imphal, June 29 2013 :
Demanding arrest of the accused persons involved in abduction and rape of a Muslim girl student from Yairipok, the JAC formed against incident has called a statewide 24-hour bandh with effect from June 30 midnight.
Announcing this in a statement, the JAC has informed that essential and emergency services like water, power, fire, medical and religious ceremonies, however, would be exempted from the purview of the bandh.
The JAC appealed all the social organisations, clubs and civil bodies to support bandh in the interest of ensuring justice to the victim.
