State Cabinet in its meeting held this afternoon at the Cabinet room of the chief minister secretariat has approved among other creation of six posts of superintendents of police(operation) and reservation of 3 percent for the people with disabilities.
The cabinet meeting convened under the chair of the chief minister, O Ibobi today has approved to the proposal of state home department for creation of six posts of SP (ops) and five post of DSP (ops) for effective service of the police, said spokesperson of the SPF government, minister N Biren.
The approved six posts of SP (ops) are for the Imphal east, Imphal west, Thoubal, Bishnupur districts, Jiribam sub-division of Imphal east and Moreh ADC of Chandel district.
The five posts of DPS (ops) are for the Imphal east (2), Imphal west (1), Thoubal (1) and Bishnupur (1) .
The cabinet also agreed to the payment of 10 percent premium for the land where government taking up developmental works.
With this, the meeting also approved to the premium for the land taken over for developing rehabilitation centre for surrendered undergrounds and opening of a camp for the IRB at Jiribam, the minister said.
The Cabinet also approved to the reservation of 3% seats for people living with disabilities in government jobs under the Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act 1995, the spokesperson further said.The decision of the cabinet is amidst the threat of All Tribal Disabled Union Manipur(ATDUM) to imposed indefinite economic blockade on the Nh-39 pressing the demand for reservation of 3% quota in government jobs.
The cabinet also approved to the engagement of a chief engineer (civil) of the Manipur Tribal Development Corporation (MTDC) apart from discussing on the law and order situation of the state arising from the incident on July 23 in Imphal, said N.Biren who expressed hope that things will be settled at the earliest.
Biren has been appointed as spokesperson of the SPF.
