Assured to help stranded Manipuris

As per a request from the executive chairman and the member secretary of Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA), all State Legal Services Authorities of the country have assured to provide possible help and assistance to the stranded persons from Manipur on account of the Nationwide lockdown, said Sorokhaibam Sadananda, deputy member secretary, MASLSA in a statement today.
To mention a few, state/district legal services authority of Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Gujarat, Baruch, Rajasthan, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Maharashtra, Puducherry, Nagaland, Dimapur, Himachal Pradesh and West Bengal have expressed that they have initiated steps to provide all possible assistance to all the stranded persons not only from Manipur but from the North East in general prior to our request, he said and added that National Legal Services Authority, which is headed by the Chief Justice of India as its Patron-In-Chief and the second senior-most judge of the Supreme Court of India as its Executive Chairman, is the apex body of all the legal services institutions in the country.
He also expressed his profound gratefulness to all the State Legal Services Authorities and the State Government for all the help extended to the stranded people of Manipur, and which are continuing still.
