Murder accused sent to judicial custody

Imphal, April 15 2021:
Chief Judicial Magistrate Imphal West today cancelled interim bail of Mutum Robindro, accused of murdering his sister-in-law.
The Court remanded him to judicial custody.
Accused Mutum Robindro (35) of Thoubal Kiyam Siphai Babu Bazar at present staying Kakwa Asem Lekai was arrested on January 7 by the Imphal Police for allegedly murdering sister-in-law (elder sister of his wife) Sougrakpam Ongbi Sunita on the same day at around 10 am using a license gun.
He was remanded to judicial custody in connection with the case on January 12 by the same Court.
However he was released on interim bail by the same Court on March 1 on medical ground for treatment.
The interim bail was extended till March 31 as his treatment was incomplete.
During the hearing today, the Court observed that the accused needs medical attention.
However looking into the seriousness of the alleged offence, the Court directed the accused be immediately taken into judicial custody and provide medical treatment by lodging him at JNIMS Hospital.
