Imphal, January 07 2015:
All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) is set to organise a one-day open discussion on discovery of human skulls and skeletal remains at the premises of Tombisana HS at Ima Konthokhanbi Shanglen tomorrow.
Addressing reporters today at AMSU headquarters, president of the union, Thiyam Naresh said that the discussion programme would deliberate on how human skulls and skeletons were found at the Tombisana HS premises.
Many people have disappeared since many years back involuntarily after they were arrested by security forces.
The place where the skulls and skeletons are found is occupied at certain points of time by security forces, he said.
As such, the open discussion programme is organised to deliberate on the matter, Naresh said while urging all concerned to participate in the programme.
Meanwhile, AMSU also said that it strongly opposes the move of missionary schools of the State which plan to conduct entrance test for selection of new students this year which otherwise was done through lottery system in the previous years.
Pointing out that the conduct of entrance test was banned in order to maintain transparency in selection of students, Naresh said that the students' body would boycott the entrance test, if any, conducted amidst the ban.
He also appealed to all mela organisers not to organise any kind of mela from Jan 9 .
