Imphal, January 25, 2012:
Chief Minister O Ibobi has questioned the integrity of CorCom over banning the Congress party alone, which is safeguarding the Territorial Integrity of Manipur and asked as to why CorCom is not against the NPF which has openly declared its intent of integration of Naga inhabited areas thereby challenging the territorial integrity of Manipur.
Addressing media persons at Congress Bhawan today, Chief Minister O Ibobi, while appealing to CorCom to lift the ban it has imposed on the Congress, said that the motive behind banning only the Congress party is not understandable.
The Congress will always stand for safeguarding the territorial integrity of Manipur.
The party does not make false election promises like other national and regional parties in the state.
The party does pay lip service aimed at befooling the people of the state.
Replying to a query, CM O Ibobi said that Mamata Banerjee is a kid as far as Manipur politics is concern.
The Congress has removed AFSPA from seven Assembly segments of Imphal and is also considering removing it from other areas.
Although other National parties are in the state .trying to woo the voters, the Congress will get absolute majority in the coming election and it will form the government again.
Speaking on the occasion, Gaikhangam, President, MPCC, said that the NPF is a political party supported by the NSCN-IM and has come in the state with its face covered.
They have arrived in the state with the hidden agenda of destroying the emotional and territorial integrity of Manipur.
It has come in the state to destroy the age long bond of love and brotherhood between the people of the hills and the plains.
He further said that the parties like the Trinamool Congress have gone into seat adjustments with the NPF which is very unfortunate for the people of the state.
It is also well known by the people that the Nagaland Chief Minister had spoken on communal grounds.
So the people should stay away from such political parties which are against the interest of the people.
IFCD Minister and SPF's spokesperson, N Biren was also present on the occasion.
