ICOP to observe 286th Anniv of Puya Mei Thaba

International Observation Committee on Puya Mei Thaba (ICOP) will be observing the 286th Anniversary of Puya Mei Thaba at THAU Ground Thangmeiband on January 13 .
Informing this in a press meet at the office of AMADA on Sunday, Moirangthem Naokahmba, convener of ICOP said that the anniversary of Puya Mei Thaba has been observed since 2011 by the committee which was formed by amalgamating different civil society organizations.
He made an announcement that three organizations namely Meihourol Inat Kanba Apunba Lup (MIKAL); Meetei Erol Eyek Loinasillon Apunba Lup (MEELAL) and Umang Lai Kanba Apunba Lup (UKAL) will work jointly with the committee from today.
He informed that as part of the observance function, titular king Leishemba Sanajaoba will lead in offering floral wreaths at the sacred Uttra Shanglen on January 13 at 8 am to be followed by the main observance function to be held at THAU Ground.
People from Cachar, Moreh, Jiribam, Ukhrul, Maram, Purum, Longa Koireng Village etc including foreign countries would be taking part in the observance function, he further informed.
Stating that Maichou Ningsing Mana and Chingmi-Tammi Ningsing Lipun Mana will be presented to several personalities who have worked for unity and strengthening the ties between the people of hills and valley, the convener of ICOP further informed that play 'Kangleipak 1709' of Manipur State Shumang Leela Council will be showcased on the day of the observance function.
