A woman along with the child in the womb died at RIMS hospital where she was brought up for delivery early this morning at about 4.15 am in an alleged lack of care on the part of the doctor attending her.
The pregnant woman identified as Asem ongbi Chaoba (35) wife of A Surjit of Yumnam Khunou Mayai Leikai died no sooner had the doctor attending her given an injection, family alleged.
According to the husband, Chaoba, his wife was brought up to the RIMS hospital for delivery of her third child on August 8 last.
Doctors attending him give her delivery timing on August 17.But after one delay, doctors transferred her at the lever room only this early morning around 3 am.
After shifted her at the lever room, doctor injected 10 gm Wxrolon injection but she died after around an hour later.
At the time of shifting her at the delivery room only new doctors were on duty.
Family members have requested the doctors to effort for saving the child if there is a chance even after the dead of the woman.
But they said "no chance", Chaoba said.
Meanwhile, not satisfied with nature of the dead of the women, family has lodged a complaint with the Imphal west district magistrate to allow video coverage and inclusion of a doctor other than from RIMS while conducting the post mortem on the dead body.
RIMS superintendent has also assured of conducting an enquiry from the hospital authority side after receiving a written complaint.
