Imphal, May 13 2018:
National Students' Union of India will soon open helpline desks and a helpline number for students of North East who want to study in Delhi and other States.
In a statement, NSUI said that thousands of students from the North East migrate to other cities for their higher studies due to the pathetic state of education in the region and added that it will always look after the needs of such students.
Addressing the media yesterday, the student body came out strongly against the apathy of the State Government towards the education sector, forcing many to migrate outside the State to pursue their higher studies.
The student body also questioned the Education Minister over the pathetic performance of students from Government schools in the recently announced examination results conducted by COHSEM.
Instead of giving more priorities to education, the BJP Government has cut the Education Budget almost by 50% proving that the BJP Government is anti-students and anti-poor, alleged NSUI.
