MU students rally against lewd SMS

Students of Manipur University today took out a protest rally demanding termination of the teacher who reportedly sent lewd SMS to some of his students.
On the charge of sending lewd SMS to some students, Dr Yengkhom Santikumar of Department Physical Education and Sports Science has been already suspended.
Not satisfied with the suspension, MU students today took out a protest rally demanding termination of Dr Y Santikumar.
One girl protester said that Y Santikumar is not fit to be a teacher.
Alleging that Santikumar has little respect for women, the student said that feel insecure to study in an institution where men like Santikumar are teaching.
Such teachers should be terminated at once in the interest of student fraternity.
In case the same demand is not fulfilled within seven days, MU students together with parents and student organisations would launch intense agitation.
Meanwhile, an official source informed that MU authority has sent a report about the alleged lewd SMS sent by Santikumar to some students to the Women Sexual Harassment Committee which was specifically set up to look into cases of sexual harassment of girl students in Indian universities.
Moreover, MU authority has set up a one-man enquiry committee to probe into the allegation.
