CEO rolls up sleeves to ensure maximum participation

To create mass awareness and ensure maximum participation in the forthcoming Lok Sabha election, the election authority is planning to distribute T-shirts embossed with poll messages to players of Yaoshang sports meets.
Moreover all polling stations of the State would be equipped with uniform voting compartments.
Speaking to The Sangai Express, Chief Electoral Officer O Nabakishore said that T-shirts embossed with election messages would be distributed to players as well as clubs which organise Yaoshang sports meet in order to create massive awareness about the Parliamentary election and ensure maximum participation of people in the electoral process.
A meeting with clubs/organisations which are planning to host Yaoshang sports festivals would be held on March 14 in the conference hall of Old Secretariat.

Apart from T-shirts, clubs would be provided banners, calendars and cassettes.
The CEO said that The Sangai Express and other corporate houses would be roped in for corporate social responsibility programmes related to systematic voter education and electoral participation in the run up to the Lok Sabha election scheduled on April 9 and April 17.In accordance to an instruction of the Election Commission of India, all the 2662 polling stations of the State would be equipped with uniform voting compartments made of plywood.
The new measure is aimed at ensuring secrecy at the time of voting, said the CEO.
Security personnel who would be assigned poll duty would be selected randomly.
ECI's Deputy Election Commissioner Alok Sukla would come to the State and make a direct assessment of the State's preparation for the Lok Sabha election on March 13 .
He would also hold a meeting with Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police.
In the meantime, Transport officials, DCs and SPs have been directed to pull up vehicles for utilization in the forthcoming election.
