Two more succumb to take total deaths to 27

Imphal, August 28 2020:
Following the death of two more COVID-19 patients including an Assam Rifles personnel at JNIMS this morning, the total fatality has touched 27 in Manipur.
A 55 year old personnel of 13 AR who hailed from Chandel district died at JNIMS at around 5.55 am today.
He was brought to the hospital on August 13 after he was infected by COVID-19 .
He was also suffering from hypertension and heart problems, sources said.
Earlier, a 40 year old woman from Telipati, Imphal East died at the same hospital at around 12.30 am today.

The woman had undergone kidney transplant and she was also suffering from diabetes.
She was brought to JNIMS on August 20.So far, five residents of Imphal East district have been killed by COVID-19 and other co-morbid health conditions.
District-wise COVID-19 death tolls till Friday are Imphal West 10, Imphal East 4, Thoubal 5, Chandel 3, Kangpokpi 3, Bishnupur 1 and Churachandpur 1 .
According to a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, 118 persons including 37 personnel of CAPF were tested positive for the virus during the last 24 hours at RIMS, JNIMS, Thoubal, Advance Hospital, Babina Diagnostic Centre, Imphal West RAT, Chura-chandpur, RIL, Imphal East and Raj Medicity.
Of the 81 civilians who have been tested positive, 37 belong to Imphal West, 24 to Imphal East, 12 to Thoubal, one each to Kak-ching and Bishnupur, two each to Senapati, Chura-chandpur and Tengnoupal.
Except for two residents of Kakching and Churachandpur districts, none of them has any history of travelling outside the State.
In the meantime, 100 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from CAPF (59), Senapati (1), UNA-CCO (19), Thoubal (12), JNIMS (7) and RIMS (2) during the last 24 hours after they were found COVID-19 free.
The recovery rate stands at 69.83 per cent.
The tally for COVID-19 positive cases in the State has reached 5929 (general public 4418, Central security personnel 1511) including 1759 active cases (general public 1021, Central security personnel 738) and 4057 discharged cases (general public 3286, Central security personnel 771) .
Meanwhile, information received from Imphal West district administration said 54 people were found infected after COVID-19 test at RIMS, Babina Diagnostic Centre and through rapid antigen test today evening.
The positive people include eight residents of Keishamthong Kabui Khul, 11 residents of Langthabal, five residents of Kodompokpi Mamang, two commando personnel, one personnel each of 1st MR, 7th IRB and CRPF.
Further, out of 374 samples tested today at JNIMS, 31 were found positive for COVID-19 whereas one individual was also found infected after rapid antigen test at Thoubal.
