Online registration for PMJAY launched

Health and Family Welfare Minister L Jayantakumar Singh today launched "Google Form for Verification of PMJAY Beneficiaries" in a function held at the conference hall of old Secretariat, Imphal.
Speaking at the occasion as chief guest, Jayantakumar said that people who wish to get the health benefit of PMJAY can get registered themselves online by submitting their Identity Card, Household card and two passport photographs.
One can also use social media platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram or any other such medium for the purpose.
He said that the Central Government had already launched such health schemes as early as September 2018 .
He said the scheme AB-PMJAY, which has a health insurance coverage of upto Rs 5 lakh was initiated for the poor and appealed to the public to reap benefits of the scheme.
Jayantakumar also expressed his concern over the reported irregularities in some empanelled hospitals regarding AB-PMJAY scheme.
The Health Department has been asked to look into the matter, he said appealing to the media to propagate awareness about the scheme.
Principal Secretary Health, V Vumlunmang said that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the process of enrolment of beneficiaries has been reduced.
Eligible persons who are in need of the PMJAY scheme will now be able to get themselves enrolled online through this new initiative.
This system of online registration will continue even after the lockdown is lifted, Vumlunmang said.
Chief Executive Officer, State Health Agency (SHA), Haulianlal Guite, said that Ayushman Bharat-PMJAY is a Central Government scheme and it provides free IPD hospital treatments for poor eligible families (upto Rs 5 lakh per family per year).
So far 83,000+ families from a total of 2,43,000 eligible families have been enrolled in the State.
20,000+ persons have benefited by this scheme, he added.
Medical Superintendent, RIMS and officials of departments concerned attended the event.
