To meet coronavirus threat...State takes up precautionary measures

Apart from forming rapid response teams, the State Government has taken up necessary precautionary measures to keep coronavirus away from the State.
Speaking to The Sangai Express, Health Director Dr K Rajo said that necessary precautionary measures have been put place so as to keep coronavirus at bay in addition to forming rapid response teams to meet any emergency situation.
All districts have been alerted so that necessary measures can be taken up promptly in case coronavirus is detected in any part of the State, Dr Rajo said.
An isolation ward has been created at RIMS and JNIMS authority has been directed to make room for a similar isolation ward, said the Health Director.
Necessary arrangements have been made for screening people infected with coronavirus at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport, Mao, Jiribam and Moreh, he conveyed.
All concerned officials have been directed to identify people who are suffering from headache, body-ache, breathing difficulty etc which are common symptoms of coronavirus, and also to take up necessary measures.
Meanwhile, officials of the Union Health Ministry today discussed about the precautionary measures that should be taken up against coronavirus with the Chief Secretary of the State and health officials through video conference, said a source while speaking to The Sangai Express.
